This five-day Maasai Mara Migration Safari is not like any other trip to Africa. Travellers from all over the world travel to Kenya to see this magnificent show. It is true that this is an experience that will last a lifetime and that it is a story that gets better with each telling. Animals travel throughout the year in a process known as migration. The “Serengeti ecosystem” is the region in which the migration takes place. Maasai Mara National Reserve in the north and Ndutu, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Maswa Game Reserve in Tanzania in the south constitute the 40,000 square mile area.
The migration is not an isolated, one-off occurrence. Rather, the term refers to the ever-present migration of more than 1.5 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, elands, and gazelles. The migration of this animals is driven by the need to find pasture and water, just like other wildlife.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 01: Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya.
On the first day of the 5 Days Maasai Mara Migration Safari, you will arrive in Nairobi. And your safari guide will welcome you and brief you about the 5 days safari in Maasai Mara, depending on time after you may have a Nairobi city tour to various destinations like Nairobi National Park, Giraffe manor, Nairobi National Museum and among others. After you can be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi where you are going to have dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 02: Lake Nakuru National Reserve.
After breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Nakuru and arrive around lunch time at Lake Nakuru Lodge. You’re going on a game drive in the afternoon. Lake Nakuru is famous for the big populations of Flamingos during dry season. The majority of Kenya’s rhino population is found in the Park. One of the soda lakes in the Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru is located 1754 metres above sea level. Situated in Kenya’s rift valley to the south of Nakuru, it is safeguarded by Lake Nakuru National Park.
The lake’s abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Along with warthogs, baboons, and other large mammals, numerous birds also thrive in the area. There have also been introductions of southern white rhinos and eastern black rhinos.
After the afternoon game drive you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Maasai Mara.
After breakfast, you will meet up with your guide and head off to Masai Mara and take your lunch boxes with you with the enroute morning game drive that will offer you the stunning views of the early risers. Once upon you arrive you will check in your lodge for relaxation as your preparing for the afternoon game drive.
Maasai Mara National Reserve (MMNR) covers some 1,510 km2 (583 sq. mi) in south-western Kenya. It is the northern-most section of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which covers some 25,000 km2 (9,700 sq. mi) in Tanzania and Kenya. It is bounded by the Serengeti Park to the south, the Siria escarpment to the west, and Maasai pastoral ranches to the north, east and west. During the game drive you will witness the gorgeous wildlife in the reserve including the big five mammals that includes lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalos alongside other various animal species and beautiful bird species. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 04: Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve.
On the fourth day of your 5 Days Maasai Mara Migration Safari, get up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast, after you will meet your Kenya safari guide and spend another day at the Mara in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drive. This is where you are going to experience the magical and beautiful landscape of Maasai Mara. During the morning game drive you will witness the big five mammals in the reserve and also if it’s time for the great migration you will observe them. After the morning game drive you can decide either to back to the lodge or take lunch or you can enjoy the picnic lunch.
After lunch you can for the second game drive to observe the wildlife that you missed during the morning game drive, and after you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 05: Departure.
On the last day of the safari you will get early in the morning and be served with a delicious breakfast. After you will checkout out from your lodge and be transferred to Nairobi with enroute game drive the enroute lunch. After lunch you will proceed with the journey to Nairobi and upon your arrival will either be dropped at Kenya International Airport or in your hotel in Nairobi and this where your safari will come to an end.
