Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, transfer to hotel.
On the 1st day of the 6-day Maasai Mara safari, depending on time of arrival, your safari guide from our tour company will pick you up from Jomo International Airport. He will welcome you and brief you about the safari.
After the briefing you will be transferred to your hotel and then check in to your hotel. Optionally, you may go to Giraffe center this is a wonderful experience that allows you to feed and then interact with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes up close and then get a unique perspective on these gentle giants in a natural setting.
After the experience you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive or fly to Maasai Mara for an afternoon game drive.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, depending on the transport to use, if you are to use the flights, your safari guide will transfer you to Wilson Airstrip to catch a flight to Maasai Mara or if you are to use the road transport, your safari guide will pick you up and then start your journey to Maasai Mara national reserve.
Along the way you will have the first stopover at a viewpoint where you will be able to view the walls of the Great Rift Valley and take wonderful pictures, as well as have another stopover at Narok, where you will be welcomed by the Maasai people and then enjoy your en-route lunch.
After your lunch you will proceed with the journey to Maasai Mara, where you will arrive in the afternoon and relax as you familiarize yourself with the place.
You will go for the afternoon game drive afterwards, where you will view the stunning animal species like the big five mammals, including lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes. You will spot other animal species like zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests, among others, including bird species like the European Bee-eater, Steppe Eagle, Pallid Harrier, Egyptian goose, Secretary birds and among others. After that, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Days 3 and 4: Full days in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.
On the 3rd and 4th days of the safari. Wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast; after breakfast you will meet your safari guide. Early morning game drive will lead you to some of Africa’s largest lion prides and herds of zebra, antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, cheetah, and hyena, and you will return to camp for breakfast some rest and Lunch.
Take an afternoon game drive after lunch to get the most out of your kenya safari. The Maasai Mara plains are home to a large number of wildebeest during the migration season, which runs from early July to the end of September.
You can also frequently see Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. Although they might be elusive and reticent, black rhinos can frequently be observed from a distance if you’re lucky. To name a few, the Mara River is home to a great number of hippos and enormous Nile crocodiles.

Day 5: Optional hot air balloon safari, cultural visit to a Maasai village.

After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and then be transferred to the reserve for the optional hot air balloon safari in the reserve; this offers you a unique perspective on the African savannah, drifting gently above the grasslands and woodlands as the sun rises.
With expert pilots moving the balloon, you will witness incredible views of the Mara’s diverse wildlife, like elephants, lions, and giraffes, from the unique aerial vantage point.
The experience includes a pre-flight briefing, a champagne toast after landing, and a certificate of flight, making it a memorable and exclusive adventure in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife reserves.

After the hot air balloon safari, your safari driver will transfer you to the reserve for a more wildlife viewing experience that offers you unforgettable safari memories to spot the big five mammals, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, and leopards. You will spot other wildlife; after the game drive, you will transfer to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will meet your safari guide and then go for the Maasai village tour, which offers you a unique cultural experience that allows you to immerse yourselves in the traditional way of life of the Maasai people.
You will explore the village, learn about the Maasai customs and traditions and interact with the community. The tour may include activities such as traditional dance performances, craft illustrations, and visits to local schools, among others. After the Maasai village tours, you will drive to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Return to Nairobi and depart.
On the 6th and the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet with your safari guide and transfer to Nairobi, along exiting the lodge you will sight the early risers of the reserve especially lions, leopards, and hyenas while they are looking for their prey, as well as other animal species like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and giraffes, among many others.
After that, you will proceed with your journey with the stunning views and upon your arrival in Nairobi, you will have lunch en route. And after lunch your safari guide will drop you off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch a flight back home.
